Lease or buy a copier: what to work out first

Both routes get you a working copier. They differ in when you pay and who owns the machine. Settle these questions first and the quotes become easy to compare.

The difference in one table

Short-term rental is a third route when you need a machine for a project or an event.

Five questions to settle first

Write your answers down. They are what a good quote is built on.

  • How long will you use this machine: a project, or many years?
  • Would one monthly figure suit your budget better than a large payment now?
  • Do you want service and toner arranged along with the machine?
  • About how many pages will you print each month?
  • Will the office grow, so that you may want to change machines later?

What to bring to the conversation

You do not need a perfect spreadsheet. A few notes are enough for us to quote.

  • The machines you use now, with their models or a photo of the label
  • Where they are and who uses them
  • About how many pages a month
  • What is slow or fails today

What affects the price

What affects the price: the model, buy or lease, finishing, lease term, service plan, and your monthly pages. We confirm it on your quote.

Guide 02 · questions

Questions buyers ask

Short answers, taken from this guide.

Is leasing cheaper than buying a copier?

It depends on your figures. Leasing spreads the cost over the lease term; buying costs more up front and you own the machine. The lease-or-buy tool adds your own figures month by month, identifies any equality point, and shows when one option becomes cheaper. Some figures never cross.

Can service be included in a lease?

Yes, service can be included. If you buy instead, you choose your own service plan. Say which you want when you ask for a quote.

What if I only need a machine for a project or an event?

Short-term rental is a third route. Choose it on the quote request and say how long you need the machine. We confirm what is possible on your quote.

What do I need to bring to get a lease or buy quote?

A few notes are enough: the machines you use now with their models or a photo of the label, where they are and who uses them, about how many pages a month, and what is slow or fails today.
